Hôtel Lancaster by Lluc Giros, Paris

Interior Design: Lluc Giros

The charming and luxurious five-star Hotel Lancaster has been a favourite destination for hospitality and gourmet culinary experiences since 1925. Redesigned in 2020 by Studio Jean-Philippe Nuel, the interior décor reflects the space’s mixed influences: 1900s architecture, antique furniture, and contemporary touches.

The bar is illuminated by an Art Deco stained-glass roof and glowing sconces. Chandeliers hang proudly from petalled mouldings in the restaurant. Kindred hand-tufted Tai Ping carpets grace the gastronomic spaces, unfurling like nascent flower buds. Designed by Luc Giros, the two rugs differ only in colour. The bar floor swirls in blues, greys, and whites while the restaurant flirts with shocks of orange.

A burnt gold textile flows down the black staircase, spilling onto the hallway floor and leading to the bedrooms. Inside the Studio Jean-Philippe Nuel designed rooms, hand-tufted Tai Ping rugs assume subtly shaped forms.
