Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme by Ed Tuttle, Paris

Interior Design: Ed Tuttle

In a previous life, in the late 1800s, this palatial hotel was the headquarters for dressmaker Jeanne Paquin. Ed Tuttle helmed the 2002 redesign, which unified five visually distinct 19th century Haussmann buildings. The Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme has since become an icon of restrained elegance, boasting a view over Paris rooftops and proximity to the Place Vendôme.

More masculine than traditional French décor, the interior aesthetic of this contemporary palace combines the original Baroque architecture with Asian influences. Reds and golds accent the beige and dark brown colour palette.

Tai Ping carpets grace public areas throughout the stately residence. A marbled textile greets guests from the floor in an otherwise understated reception area, creating visual interest with its dynamic red hue. In the hallway, pale lines undulate playfully against the red backdrop of a wall-to-wall rug. The neutral lobby carpet reinforces the impression of discretion and privacy, creating ideal conditions to unwind. The dining area is spectacularly decked out with a vast variation of Shards from Tai Ping’s Vestige Collection.
