Edward Fields
Meaning “moon,” Kynthia shows an array of abstract, organic, and understated shapes in shades of grey wool and delicate silk outlined with gold dull silk. The Alpha Workshops is the first non-profit organisation in the US to provide decorative arts education and employment for adults with visible and invisible disabilities, including HIV/AIDS. Dedicated to creating beauty and changing lives, the organization was founded in 1995 and modelled on the famed Omega Workshops, the Wiener Werkstätte, the Bauhaus, and the American Arts & Crafts movement. Edward Fields designers worked in close union with The Alpha Workshops team on two editions, adapting a selection of patterns from the design archives resulting in an exclusive suite of bespoke rugs.
