AV Teigra I

Alpha Workshops Edition for Aviation
Edward Fields
Meaning “tiger,” the Teigra pattern represents a faux animal skin that has been modernized by a mélange of different scales and directions. Interpreted in a blend of wool and silk, the rug has a bold and graceful style. This design is expertly tufted by skilled artisans.

The Alpha Workshops is the first non-profit organisation in the US to provide decorative arts education and employment for adults with visible and invisible disabilities, including HIV/AIDS. Dedicated to creating beauty and changing lives, the organization was founded in 1995 and modelled on the famed Omega Workshops, the Wiener Werkstätte, the Bauhaus, and the American Arts & Crafts movement. Edward Fields designers worked in close union with The Alpha Workshops team on two editions, adapting a selection of patterns from the design archives resulting in an exclusive suite of bespoke rugs.
