Phaedra I

Alpha Workshops Edition
Edward Fields
Meaning “glowing,” this piece is taken from an ancestral Japanese technique called Negoro-nuri. Invented in the 14th century by monks, the process involves applying colored lacquer in multiple layers, which are then partially sanded away. The shine of the viscose contrasts with the blended wool gleams in bright hues of yellow. This design is expertly tufted by skilled artisans.
